$930 Million Announced to Fight Opioid Crisis

The Substance Misuse and Mental Health Services Administration has recently announced that it is accepting applications for $930 million in State Opioid Response Grants to help states and territories combat the opioid epidemic. Fifteen percent of these grants will be set aside to provide funding to the states that have been hit the hardest by the epidemic. The funding will go to improve access to medication-assisted treatment plans and provide stronger social support resources. The funding is consistent with the administration’s Five Point opioid plan, an effort to combat the opioid epidemic in the United States.
