CHIP Funding Extended Until March

Congress has continued to struggle to come to an agreement on long-term government funding. Just as Congress ended their 2017 session, they voted to approve more short-term funding for the Children’s Health Insurance Program. This funding will last until March, longer than other short-term funding deals they have reached lately, but not long enough to provide solace to the many states struggling to ensure the funds will remain available for the children they insure.
